Connect Scout to Claude

Setup guide · 5 minutes end-to-end

Scout is the Monday-morning report - written. It connects your clients’ Shopify, Meta, Klaviyo, Google Search Console and GA4 data to Claude, so you can ask Claude for a client’s weekly update and get a ready-to-edit draft with real numbers, commentary and recommendations - and ask for ad-hoc reads any day of the week. This guide connects Scout to Claude as a connector and drafts your first report.

Before you start

  • A Claude account on a plan that supports connectors (Pro, Team, Max or Enterprise).
  • A Scout workspace at dashboard.askscout.app (sign-up creates one).
  • At least one client added in Scout with an integration connected, so your first report has real data to talk about. See the Klaviyo guide for a worked example.

Step 1 - Add Scout as a connector in Claude

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Paste Scout’s MCP endpoint as the connector URL:
    https://dashboard.askscout.app/api/mcp
  4. Give it a name (for example Scout) and save. Claude discovers Scout’s tools and authentication automatically.

You can also find this URL any time in Scout under Settings → MCP.

Step 2 - Approve the connection

  1. Click Connect. Claude opens Scout’s sign-in in a new window.
  2. Sign in to Scout (or you’ll already be signed in) and review the consent screen. It shows the workspace Claude will be able to read on your behalf.
  3. Click Approve. The window closes and the Scout connector shows as connected in Claude.

Scout uses OAuth - Claude never sees your password, and you can revoke access at any time from Settings → MCP in Scout or from Connectors in Claude.

Step 3 - Scope the conversation to a client

Scout is multi-client, so start by telling Claude which client you want to work on. In a new chat with the Scout connector enabled, try:

“List my Scout clients, then set the active client to Noobiie.”

Claude calls Scout to load that client’s profile, scope, KPI definition and memory. Everything after this is scoped to that client until you switch.

Step 4 - Draft the Monday report

Ask Claude for the weekly update:

“Draft this week’s Monday report for Noobiie.”

Claude pulls the client’s metrics, campaign log and memory through Scout and returns a draft in your agency’s voice - a verdict up top, the numbers that matter, commentary and recommendations. Edit it in the chat, and when you’re happy ask Claude to save, publish a shareable link, or email it to the client.

Example prompts

A few ways agencies use Scout through Claude:

  • Weekly report: “Draft this week’s Monday report for Noobiie and flag any creative that’s fatiguing.”
  • Mid-week ad-hoc read: “How is Noobiie’s Meta spend pacing against the $3k/week revenue target so far this week?”
  • Creative check: “Show me the top and bottom performing Noobiie creatives by cost-per-purchase over the last 14 days.”
  • Memory: “Remember that Noobiie’s revenue target is always Shopify gross revenue, never platform-reported.”

What Scout can and can’t do

  • Scout is read-only against your ad and analytics platforms - it never edits campaigns, lists or budgets.
  • The only things Scout writes are inside your own Scout workspace: reports you save, and memory you ask Claude to record.
  • Every client’s data is isolated by workspace, and enforced by row-level security.

Troubleshooting

  • The connector won’t connect. Confirm the URL is exactly https://dashboard.askscout.app/api/mcp and that you’re signed in to Scout in the same browser.
  • Claude says there are no clients. Add a client in Scout first at dashboard.askscout.app, then ask Claude to list clients again.
  • The report has thin numbers. Make sure the client’s integrations are connected and have finished their first sync.
